Arrived in Kenya

Friends, at 1:52am we received an email from USCIS in Nairobi, Kenya confirming our file had been received from Addis. Never did we imagine our Ethiopian adoption would involve Kenya. We feel so much better knowing it is officially there and are trusting our case will be reviewed and ruled over with swift justice and integrity. The USCIS has up to 30 days to either clear us or issue an RFE (request for more evidence). We have become part of a network of families going through the same tumultuous battle to bring their children home, and from within that network we are seeing cases nearly identical to ours clear within a week of arriving in Nairobi. Our bold and specific prayer is to clear even tonight. If we can clear by Monday or Tuesday we will try to be on a plane Friday March 9th. My specificity in prayers and dates may make you uneasy for us (believe me, it’s a stretch for me too) but after three months of setbacks and disappointments all while trying to guard my heart, I am no better off than if I jump into the fear, and fully ask and hope for our heart’s desire. Thank you for joining in our prayer to be returning to our baby girl by next week. I will update more as we can.
Lulu turned a year old on Saturday. We celebrated her quietly and privately for the most part, but did make a point to visit our favorite frozen yogurt shop in her honor. We have been gifted with this beautiful warrior princess, please God bring her home soon to join our table.
Much Love,
-Sarah
